1995 Millenia Overheating no leaks help please

Hi guys ive had my millenia for about 2 years now and I remember when i bought it 2 years ago in the winter if I had the heat on in the car for more than 30 to 40 minutes it would start to overheat but it all of a sudden stoped. Now 2 year later it has started to overheat again but this time it overheats if i DRIVE for more than 30 to 40 mins, I have no leaks on it at all and had a radiator flush done about 4 months ago, im kinda straped for cash and have no money to go to the mechanic, im hoping since theres no leaks its something i can fix myself, thanx for any help guys

No leaks is good. Have you checked the coolant level? Has the thermostat been replaced?

Re: 1995 Millenia Overheating no leaks help please

Flushing a cooling system does not gaurantee that the coolant will circulate. The radiator may be restricted or the thermostate not working correctly. Are the electric fans on when the engine runs hot? Is there anything blocking airflow through the radiator like bugs or cooling fins that are bent?

If I understand you correctly 2 years ago your engine would run hot, with the heater on after 30-40 min of driving during cool weather. Then for the past 2 years your engine has not run hot regardless of 30-40 min or longer trips and you have no idea what may have changed to improve cooling. And recently your engine has started running hot after 30-40 min trips without the heater on?

How does your engine run as far as power? Airflow through your engine is even more critical than more common engines. I wonder if a restricted air filter could cause a significant engine cooling problem with your engine? Inspect your air filter. Don't run the engine without a filter

Plenty of owners whom have had problems with their Mellinia report overheating and super charger problems that are very expensive for parts or labor.

im goin to give it a look, the fans do work fine when the engine is hot and i will check the air filter and post back. the car has reasonable power for a regular 2.5 millenia. also someone on mazdaworld forums said i might have a hose with a small hole in it that after the engine gets hot the hole might open up but since the engine is hot the water evaporates before it hits the ground, is that possible, cause i have antifreeze in there not water

If the thermostat has not been replace or checked that would be a very good place to start.
Go for that and seee what it does.

Not sure but a good repair manual would led you in the right direction.
Auto zone may have a locater on it or a picture.
They have a web site with some repair info.
Parts book sometime show puictures.
Look at a haynes or chilton repair book for info on it.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Re: 1995 Millenia Overheating no leaks help please

Let me know asap of any parts you need. I have a 95 millenia for parts only. The car is mint! It will save you tons of money from buying from the dealer because bairly any auto shop sells parts for 95 millenia. Especially doors/hood bumpers. There hella rare.

[email protected] asap before it all goes
