how do i tell

im looking at buying a 92 talon the guy says that it has the 6 bolt in it how do i tell for sure, i only want it if the swaps already done

There would have been no swap done, it rolled out of the showroom floor with that engine in it if it's a '92.

Not necessarily, that's when they switched was in mid-92, it could have either the 6 or 7 bolt.

I thought only a handful of 7 bolt '92 were ever confirmed...so technically it would be possible but odds are very good that it's a 6 bolt.

As my understanding of it goes, sure the switch was in the middle of the calendar year (mid April I believe) but they stopped production shortly after in like June. So yes, some will have 7 bolts, but I think its like 80-90% have 6 bolts.

I realize that the majority of them are 6-bolt, but he wanted to know "for sure" if it was a 6-bolt, in which there is a chance it could be, or couldn't be. I was just bringing up the facts.
