I seriously doubt those amps OR speakers are truly 2000 watta RMS. I would get some 2 or 1/0 gauge power wire and let her rip, see what happens.

Re: HiFonics & Solo-Baric L7?

watts peak are NOT equal to watts RMS, and no one regulates car stereo manufacturer claims - so they can pretty much claim whatever they want. I am more into sound quality but I am sure some of the other guys on here know more about bass stuff than I do.

Re: HiFonics & Solo-Baric L7?

Hifonics amps dont reach what they are rated at. On an amp that big it can be off by as much as 250-300 watts. As for the L7's they only have an rms of 750 so whoever told you 2k way overrated them.

Besides you can get better output from a set of RE MT's, Sound SPlinter RL-s, incriminator lethal injection. IMO kicker is way over rated as a brand they arent that great and the solobarics are prone to a crap load of distrotion due to the square cone. More output may be nice but distortion isnt.

What do you want out of a setup and whats your budget.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

I don't think he wanted advice on subs and amps, sounds like he's already made up his mind. The post was - "what else do I need ?" I was just pointing out that the amps are overrated and may not need as much power as it might seem at first glance. I would hook everything up as is and see what happens. If the alternator can't handle it, you will have to get a bigger one .... if it doesn't sag too bad then he can keep the OEM alternator.

Re: HiFonics & Solo-Baric L7?

I think i will keep out of this one. Alot of you guys know how i feel about kicker and other brands.

But a HO alternator deep cycle bat, big three and 1/0 cable.
