Yeah dude, 35R's are about as big as you would want to go on the street and streetish setup. That I know, theres no reason a turbo would be throwing black smoke and you need to get that issue fixed before you think about putting on a bigger turbo. Do you have a wideband? That would be much better spent money right now than a big fuckin turbo.

What would you think of a turbo that has a compressor of .64 a/r and turbine .68 a/r. What would be the spool time on a 2.3 stroker.

So then a turbine with 1.15 A/R and say a .70 A/R compressor would be too big for a 2.3 stroker. 5500rpms full boost (20spi) ??

Maybe I should just get the Garrett GT70R hehe, will I ever even see boost ???

No, a turbo that big is meant for V8's. Unless you could spin like 100k rpm, you wouldnt even get close to spooling that bad boy. I dont know about the compressor wheel, but you should shooting for a .85ish on the turbine side I think, particularly for a big turbo like that.

You should keep your current turbo and get a decent tune and finish out your support mods before you tackle a big turbo. You'd be suprised what that thing might be hiding with some good tuning and proper support mods.
