what the heck is going on with my amp?
Here is my problem. I got a 2 ch. amp. when i hook up the left channel to either sub the sub doesnt work. is it possible that the channel is dead?
Anyway ive never ran into a problem like this so a little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hook up a dmm to that channel and see what reading you get.

do any lights come on and is it s single voice coil sub or a duel voice coil sub. (impendence differents)

Amp works and i believe the sub is a dual voice coil. the RCA works. And what is an DMM?

dmm = digital muti meter.
you need atleast a digital muti meter to be able to diagonis. |

try connecting both speakers, then swap the RCA connectors at the amp. If the problem changes to the other then the problem is not the amp or speaker. If it stays the same then the problem is the amp or speaker.

Hook a 9 volt battery's pos to subs pos, neg to subs neg, if the sub's woofer moves outward or inward, it works. this is helpful if you don't have a dmm. It's also how we test to see if speakers are in phase at our shop.
