Is this normal?

I bought a 91 Ninety-Eight for my son. Great car so far, but for one small little issue. Whenever the car is shifted into reverse, the dome lights come on, which at night makes it a little hard to see where you are going. Is this normal behavior for this vehicle?

Thanks,
Ed

Re: Is this normal?

Doesn't sound normal to me. What are the back-up lights doing when it's in reverse?

Re: Is this normal?

I just checked, the back-up lights go on as well. BTW, The dome lights work normally at other times, you can turn em' on and off anytime. When in reverse however, you cannot turn them off.

that's pretty weird indeed.... obviously a wiring problem. i feel that your best bet would be to follow the dome lights wiring through the electrical harness.
