this is qite the common problem on our cars, from my experience it may either be that you have low transmission oil levels or all those half pressed clutch shifts have caused you syncros to get wornout and are now failing to do there job, a temporary solution would be to wait like 1 seond befor you shift into third or press the clutch down all the way twice before you shift up, to totally avoid this problem you could aslo rev match before you shift so the syncros dont even have to work

I have the same problem, only not nearly as bad. My second gear feels as if it grinds as I put it in but there is no sound. How do you know if you shift with half pressed clutch? ...I mean I shift very fast sometimes but the gear shifter always comes out smooth.

yeah, I do wait a sec in neutral to let revs go down, but that really is...not good when your trying to shift quick....but i dont wanna hurt my baby ...but just out of curiousity, what would be the permanent solution? I'll check my trans fluid and get back to ya

when I say half pressed clutch i mean you only push it in half way wicj will work and makew it seem like you made a good shift but its not good for the trany, cuz you release the clucth enough to make the shift but you dont push the clutch down rnought o allow the syncros to rnge right

and the permanent solution would be having your 2nd gear or 3rd gear syncro changed out man

I used to shift like that in my Z when i first got it...

I kinda figured out exactly how far to push in the clutch to shift w/o grinding, and only pushed it that far...

I wonder if that messed up my trans? *shrugs*

Also, my clutch has a lot of play... seems like its sloppy till it gets pressed about half way down, then it has some resistance... mabey shifting like that screwed that up...
