rsx-s or a tc with trd supercharger

hi, i am looking for a decently fast daily driver that is also realiable. and i was looking at the acura rxs-type s and the scion tc with the trd supercharger option. and they are roughly the same price. i don't want to spend more then 15k if you recommend something else.

Re: rsx-s or a tc with trd supercharger

I'd go with the Acura. Both cars are quite nice for the money and worth every penny, but looking at reviews and specs, Acura would probably be more fun to drive and more useful overall. Scion has factory supercharger, and just plain offers more out of the box. Acura Type s gets 6 speed and seems to be the better handling of the two (not by much). If you put money in the ride, you'd probably get more out of the Acura also.

"Melo" and "AI". Enough said.

Re: rsx-s or a tc with trd supercharger

the only thing bad about the rsx is that i can get a 03 rsx for the same price as a 05 tc plus a when i went to scion they said if i wanted to get a 05 with out the trd supercharger that they can add for half of what it costs new.

Here is a decent review of the supercharged scion
http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpconta...ticleId=108776

I strongly suggest you test drive both (if you can) if you haven't already. I think that's what really will make you decide what u want since it's a daily driver and, therefore, ride will be really important. I've never driven either, my opinion is solely based off of specs and expert & customer reviews but both seem very similar in ride quality. The supercharger is nice, but people say it creates a lot of wheelspin, no LSD or anything. Still, you get some form of warranty with the supercharge option, whether Toyota installs the supercharger or not (it's considerably longer if they do it). I'd get the Scion only if i wasn't gonna add aftermarket stuff (doesn't sound like you are). Just seems too "19 year old"ish to me though. Plus i'd be willing to give up all that scion stuff just to get a 6 speed.

Re: rsx-s or a tc with trd supercharger

i would definitly shell out the money for the RSX-S. I use to make fun of that car until i realy started seeing them make 200+ whp n/a with bolt ons. I've seen them go up to 230whp on just bolt ons. That garantees a 13 second car that is reliable with a much better interior and better handling.

even with the TRD supercharger, the TC is still not as fast as a stock RSX-S. The stock RSX-S traps at around 95-96 mph which is pretty impressive.

RSX-S. (This is coming from a tC owner mind you). Looks, well either way i think they are both great looking cars. The tC is a solid reliable daily driver, but the RSX-S definetly has a much better, performance oriented engine, 6 speed tranny, sharper handling, more responsive brakes and a much more refined interior along with that Honda reliability. The tC is a good choice too, but the RSX-S is clearly better =)
