Why only short bursts?
Think of these batteries as your Nitrous tanks. Like Nitrous, the ESC's instant boost is currently limited in duration, but unlike Nitrous, that restriction will gradually disappear as battery technology improves. Eventually, high-volume capacitors will allow for almost perpetual usage. Until then, a typical battery bank will yield several runs before recharge. And unlike Nitrous, our system will not cost you thousands of dollars in long-term refilling expenses. Most Nitrous users go through at least 1 bottle/week, and at $30 to $45 per bottle, that's a hidden charge of $1,560 a year, every year, forever. Think about it! With our system, you will never deal with costly refills again.

Maximum Duration 15 seconds

Taken from the page about his supercharger thing. When was the last time batteries had some big innovation? I haven't seen a battery change much since they came out. Except for maybe a little better design and slightly better manufacturering, they seem to be the same shit they have pumped out for years. Why? Because they work for what they are intended. He wants to run this off regular ass car batteries that give you a "15 second boost". What a hassle. Why not make it a real electric supercharger and have it run off an energy cell that can be plugged into the wall like hybrid cars. Maybe then it would be worth the price he is asking and give you real extended performance like a turbo.

Also, for that money you can buy all the parts needed to do a real turbo setup and probably have it installed professionally for a grand total of around $2k.

Re: electric supercharger? $1600.00 WHAT????

This is my favorite part of the ebay ad:

The electric supercharger can produce up to 2 PSI of positive pressure and up to 40% horsepower/torque gains can be seen

Holy crap, 2psi.

Yep, I'm running about 21psi, so by their calculations, I should be pushing about 400% more power than I was stock. Let's see.....Stock DSM's normally dyno in the 180WHP range. Multiply that by 400% and I should be in the neighborhood of 720WHP.

Wow, not too shabby for a 16g and some 650cc injectors.
