Re: 92 taurus power door locks inop
Are you comfortable using a voltmeter? Seems like the next step will be to start checking for voltage at the switches and at the lock motors. That will at least give you (and us) a direction to head.
Does your car have power windows? Did you check the fuses in the engine compartment? Enter your car's information into the Autozone website, click on Repair Info, then Vehicle Repair Guides, Chassis Electrical, Wiring diagrams. Scroll down to the Body Wiring Diagram for your 1992. -Rod |

Yes volt meter info would be great. Also look in your owners manual and see what else is on the door locks fuse(s). See if those are OK or if they stopped working too. As shorod mentioned there are fuses in the engine compartment, check those too.

Does it have FACTORY keyless entry? If so then you have type B locks, which are operated by negatice voltage. If not then you have type C locks, which are reverse polarity door locks. The door locking system is operated by a (+) Positive voltage on one wire while at the same time another wire will need a (-) Negative or Ground. When the door locks are operated by the power door lock switch, this switch as it refers to in its name, reverses the polarity to the door lock motors which in turn lock and unlock the doors. Color codes should be PINK/YELLOW and PINK/GREEN in the kick panel.

Glad you got it all sorted jjh1976
BTW - be extra careful where you use a test light at. They can cause a LOT of damage in modern day cars. The fluke meter is a much safer choice
