problem with speedometer and code 17

After swaping the speedo and vss. I started to get code 17. Soon i found out that the ecus vss pind vas not connected. If connected to the wire that goes from the vss to the cluster the code goes away but the speedo stop working ......are there 2 pins on the ecu for the vss? or the PM7 ecu does not have the vss option?

not much help there....the wires are the same but as i swaped the wires form a GL model to a model that has a ecu some wires were . All the other things worke. Even if i just put a wire from the ecu in the midel of the speedo-vss it the speedo just goes down to 0 after reseting and driving for about 5 min no error code is shown but speedo is at 0 allthe time. Thats why i whant to know if there is a second pind for the speedo on the ecu.

Funny thing is if i need to go OBD1 then why does a OBD0 ecu have a VSS fault code?

Re: problem with speedometer and code 17

You'll get a code 17 in OBD0 ecu if you remove speedo drive cable from tranny. I'm not sure how to help. Sorry.
