Re: I'm back
Headlight was cleaned up, repainted and resealed. You can't tell the difference except it's not as shiny as the opposite side. Took apart the gauge cluster to lube up the gears and found where the weird crackling, popping sound was coming from. The speedometer shaft that connects to the cable in the back was worn out and lose so it would bounce around. The needle would jump around as well. So I improvised a little. Took the speedometer out of my old std cluster, succesfully rolled the miles up to 199k to the current speedo's mileage and popped it back in. With new bulbs all around, it's lookin good, just haven't been able to test to see if the speedo wasn't harmed with my careful handling.
Buddy wanted the steering wheel for his integra which he's trying to completely turn into a honda starting with the badges and all. So I scored a free 93 teg wheel. Painted the front black lip under the hood and against the bumper to the same color of the car as i was bored towards the end of the day. Looks good in my opinion. Now I'm going to work on the engine with the basics and I really, really want to do my first valve cover painting with the valve cover on the car. Might shave the 16 valve portion off and paint it with wrinkle black. So yeah, so far so good!

Re: I'm back
It takes all of two minutes to remove a valve cover. I've noticed this because I had to remove the covers to successfully get the spark plug socket extension to reach the plugs. Anyway, just remove the cover it takes 2 minutes. GL and post pics of your progress!

I actually meant I was going to paint the valve cover off the car. I worded it wrong making it seem like it would be on the car. Oops. Thanks, I'll post pics when the snow here is gone. Damn Stange Weather! One day it's 65 outside and the next theirs rain and snow.

Re: I'm back
Here are few pics I quickly shot before my camera died. Good friend of mine had a set of 13" rims sitting around from a civic he found in the junkyard and let me put them on. Not bad, but they do stick out a bit. The only problem is we have no idea what they or who made them. All is written on them is Monza 2. Any ideas.
The valves were looking good when I had the valve cover off. Vavle cover was stripped and sanded up. Really liked the semi shiny aluminum look so I put it back on. Now the only problem is the car is starting off and on. Main Relay is probably the problem. Also, when changing the rims, found the drivers side axle boot is broken. Took hold of the axle and I could wiggle it back and forth. This is not good and is this why when I drive the car, the wheel seems like it's wobbling very badly? ![]() ![]()
