check eng light

Hey, i went to autozone the other day an some codes came up i just wanna know wat i can do to fix these problems p1405, 0171, and 0174. I own a 00 explorer sport

welcome to AF forums. all very common codes. btw its a big help to post all the info you can, in particular eng size is missing. your posts will often be ignored w\o it.
171 & 174 are lean codes, many times this is a cold only vaccum leak between the upper composite plenum & the lower aluninum intake.
1405 is an egr code check the hoses from the dpfe sensor to the exhaust, if they are ok and the tube is not leaking or clogged(have seen them full of carbon)















the dpfe is probably to blame. if it's aluminum not black composite it's never been replaced and is a common failure. do the checks first before replacing parts. dpfe can be checked w\scan tool as with the lean codes, freeze frame data and fuel trims should tell the tale.

its a 2000 4.0 ohv, and also the egr sensor melted, so thats replace including the vacum lines. I dont know what to do but it runs fine
