Re: ????????????d15bvtec?????????

everything except for the ecu will transfer over. There will be a few wires that wont conenct to the engine from the harness. Im not so sure that the D15 has a vtec model, but correct me if im wrong.

Re: ????????????d15bvtec?????????

the d15b vtec is a jdm engine, it does really exist.

If your d15b has a vtec pressure switch, then your existing ecu will be fine. Other wise you need to put the one from your original engine onto the d15b, to use your existing ecu. The rest of the parts will all be the same as your original engine (mounts, transmission, wiring harness, O2 sensor, distributor, etc).

Re: ????????????d15bvtec?????????

im a begginer in this field. i hve a d15b engine and i want to modify it for illegal drag racing w/ my friends. what should i do to improve the speed w/o the headworks. i hve installed racing filter, headers (4-2-1 although they say 4-1 is better in drag), and adjustable cam gear. any ideas what to do next to add up hp? tnx.

Just a question, why not go for better engine (B16A or others)? D15B VTEC doesn't produce that much more horsepower (130hp compare to your old 125hp).

If it's the price (I'm sure it's cheaper than B16A), then you shouldn't need much changes. AFAIK the wiring harness is on the different side (JDM) so you might need to re-route some of the wires.

By "illegal drag racing", I hope you're not referring to the movie "Gay and Hilarious" style driving.... Also, don't do any street racing, unless you're willing to risk losing your license and maybe your own life.

Anyway, do you have stock U.S. D15B engine? Any idea which one? If you have '91-'95 Civic CX, your engine only produce 70hp. So any mod you put on the engine won't help. Just get an engine swap.

No need to use the d15b vtec wiring harness, the EX one will work fine, especially when using the stock ex ecu.
