Gluing photoetch parts together

Do you use C/A glue to glue photoetch parts, such as all the parts to a brake disk, together? Isn't it a bit thick?

Re: Gluing photoetch parts together

It all depends on how strong the bonds need to be. There are many, many ways of gluing PE together, each with advantages/disadvantages. If it has to be strong, CA or epoxy are the way to go. If not, white glue, acrylic clear gloss, or (my favorite) Microscale foil adhesive work great.

I'm guessing PE brakes don't need to be all that strong, but I've never used them. What do you think?

Clear nail varnish also has it's uses with PE parts I have found (and my nails look pretty afterwards, too)

Eh? What kind of glue are you using? The CA glue I use. (Zap CA+) isn't thick at all...

Re: Gluing photoetch parts together

Just a bit of solder, liquid acid seaming solution, flame seamer if only PE and iron seamer if on white metal, CA on plastic.

Re: Gluing photoetch parts together

I've only ever done p/e to plastic, for pieces with a good surface area, just used white glue. For tiny parts like rivets just use clear paint.
