Question for the NASCAR modelers
What local hobby shop paints best replicate the #8 & #20 cars?
I would like to stay with what I know which are Tamiya sprays and Testors enamels. TIA Steve |

Re: Question for the NASCAR modelers
You need to be more specific. There have been tons of #8 and #20 cars, and in different liveries, over time.

Re: Question for the NASCAR modelers
For regular #8 Budweiser schemes, Tamiya Italian Red [co-incedentally TS-8]
Home Depot Orange is a tough one.

Re: Question for the NASCAR modelers
One of the house paint companies makes NASCAR-themed paints that supposedly match the real cars (Probably available at Lowes), you could try getting the color chips for that and matching it yourself.
About 10-12 years ago there was a line of paints that matched the real NASCAR colors, but they are long gone. Probably casualties of the increase in licensing fees desired by NASCAR and its teams. Colors don't look exactly the same in 1:1 as they do in 1:25, so don't knock yourself out getting it perfect. Testors explains this in more detail in some modeling tutorial book they put out (It was free in PDF form on their website last I checked, but that was several years ago). |
