speaker install

anyone know how to get passed the 6x9 speaker grills on a 92-96 camry?? i tried to get them to pop off with a screwdriver but im scared they might brake i am just replacing the factory system with some aftermarkert speakers. i also need to know how to get to the door 6.5s speakers. its driving me insane. i hope i dont have to take off all the paneling to reach them!

You have to take the seat out just grap it in the middle and pull up it has approx. 3-4 places it holds one on each end and two in the middle it can be hard to pull up but it will come out you also might i don't know but i found an extra manual and service manual when i took mine off to get to the speakers to replace them then find the bolt that holds on the side pieces there should be a tab where the bolts are that help hold that piece on not the seat belt bolts they shouldn't come off because they are tightened very tight then take the screw out then push that up it should just pop off they just hook on to a panel that is attached to the frame you'll see once you get them off and lay them to the side lay them on the side that it comes off that way it is easier to put back on when your done with the work and need to put them back off then take that little panel that the part you just took off is seated behind just pops out next you have to take the brake light off by taking the cover off the brake light then unscrewing the screws that hold the brake light on to the mount and then disconnect the light from the plug and then flip down the two folding seats and take the caps off the top of the screws there are about middle of the panel that secure the cover unscrew the screws then push up and make sure the cover clears the flip down latches that hold the seats upright and pull out and you can then get to them

*Pop the large plastic trim pieces for the rear window off.
*There are two brackets that hold the rear seat bottom in located in 1/3 intervals. With a sharp jerk (That means quick, not hard) pull upwards & the bottom of the rear seat pulls out.
*Put the seatbelts to the side of the back of the rear seat back to make it easier to pull out.
*The rear seat back is held on by 4 14mm bolts remove & pull the seat out.
*Remove brake light for the package shelf 2 screws
*The package shelf is held in by 6 clips, remove.


Remove the package sehelf.

im still slightly confused... are you saying that i have to actually pull out that whole rear window piece? or can i pop off the grills with a quick jerk?

you have to take the whole back panel off to do it without breaking the grills. the speakers up front you have to remove the whole door panel. also, check the size of your speaker in front before buying, i have a 93 dx, w/o power locks/wondows, and it says 6.5" speakers, but they are 4". i made these directions, check them out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2272666/4
