I'd suggest a turbo, instead of gobs of torque right off idle with a roots style blower.
or a centrifugal like you have..... either or...

Re: mustang Horse Power

A centri blower will scream at idle. I idled my car at 800rpms with the blower and you had to scream over it when the hood was off. Generally the lower you idle your motor with a centri blower the louder it will be at idle.
Maybe the twin screws dont scream at idle, I dont have any personal experience with them. I do know that for the money I'd rather have a centri blower or turbo. $5k for the KB blower mentioned, or a $5k turbo kit or centri blower kit. For $5k you can get a ProCharger F2, or a turbo kit like mine with an even bigger turbo to make similiar power. I bought a PT76GTSHP turbo, good for about 1250bhp. Either of the two I mentioned will take you into the 8's in the 1/4 mile, if you have the rest of your shit together. The big ProCharger is good for 7's and with a turbo upgrade to my kit I could make the same kinda power..if I had the rest of my shit together .

I think a bored/stroked 3v with a F2 would be a badass, but the noise would be too overwhelming on the street for me personally. So swap the F2 for a PT101 or similiar with full exhaust and hang on. Just keep the throttle action light. Some people love the whine of a blower, its just too loud for my taste.

To be completely honest with you though, and no offense intended to the thread starter..you may wanna start with a little less. Thats why I bought an S-trim before a big turbo..the torque curve was more street friendly, and it was cheaper. The power and torque added by boost is addictive. But if your not used to it and dont know what to expect it will kick your ass. I'd just hate to see you god forbid loose control of a car like you are talking about. Maybe you would be interested in starting off with a Vortech SQ-trim centri blower and 6-7psi or whatever the "stock" setting is. The SQ is supposed to be much more quiet, also it is a great entry level blower. Just a suggestion from someone who has been there, the S series blower are great for a first taste of boost. I was shocked when I took my car for the first ride under boost.

Yeah, cause the cage and wheelie bars and 15" wide-tires aren't a give-away.

don't forget... the GT500 is already supercharged... so you will just have to swap out the main supercharger core,, which is a whole 3 grand at most... at least it was for a 2.6... I would go with the 2.8H kit... but I'm not sure how much they are, as they are fairly new

yeah but that kit is for a 4.6 2V.... they are only from 99-04... your particular car is a 4.6 3V and the GT500 is a 5.4 4V

this beast is what you want on the shelby

Re: mustang Horse Power

In all honesty... I think your aiming too high with a street car... when your on the road today... look around and check out each and every car and assess how fast they are.... now if you swapped up to internals and ran this on your GT as is and pushed enough PSI to be at 600RWHP....
http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...gt05-06_3v.htm

honestly... there isn't alot that is faster than you on the road after that... and it will come with about 10 grand including your dyno tune and your bolt ons

sure there are supercars and worked cars..... how many of those do you see on the way to work?

like around my area I see lots of C5 vettes and some base model C6's and alot of 3V's.... but the most they have is intake/exhaust and a tune if their lucky.... even a stock internal KB 3V (they can only hold about 400-450 RWHP with a good tune) will have a hard time being defeated by your normal tuner muscles with basic bolt on's...

to give you an idea of power... a stock internal KB 3V will be able to out muscle LS6 and LS2 vettes.... and a forged internal 600RWHP KB'ed 3V should be a drivers race with a LS7 Z06... after wieght and aero.... and a C6 Z06 smokes lambo gallardo's like it's a walk in the park... stay with your 3V and supercharge it, you will not be dissapointed
