P1810 x 2 on Overhauled tranny

Need some help.

I just spent 2k last week to "overhaul" the transmission on a 2000 z71 5.3. Truck ran fine for the first few days, then I noticed it started missing / stalling on the hwy at about 70mph. Almost felt like it was starving for fuel. So I changed the fuel filter and the air filter. Problem was still there, then I get the "check engine" light and i have two P1810 codes (manufactuer controlled transmission" is what my Actron says. So, now I'm thinking what I first thought was a fuel system issue is probably transmission slippage.

So, I have a few questions before I take it back to the shop

A. Is it possible that trans slippage would only occur at higher speeds? Approx 70 mph...and it feels like it's just tugging back on my truck ever few seconds??

B. Would slippage throw the P1810 code(s)

C. Should I shoot the mechanic? j/k

D. Anybody have this problem before? What is the likely cause of this type of failure on a recently overhauled transmission?

Sorry to be so long winded. Thanks in advance for the help

jon

Re: P1810 x 2 on Overhauled tranny

Is the engine just running out of power or is the transmission slipping?
I would check it on a another good trans capable scanner and see what code and data it reads.

The code 1870 refers to the TFP manual valve position switch circuit.
That is the 5 solenoids in the transmission but note the code says circuit problem which could be wiring or other problems.

If the engine is running out of power check that end out to.
The engine has to run right for the transmission to work right.
If the transmission was just rebuilt get it back to them and let them check it out.
Let us know how it goes.

I don't believe the issue is with the engine, because the first day or two everything was working fine. Then the issue started and then the two transmission codes were thrown right after that. I plan to take it back to the shop tomorrow, I'll post the results.

From your first post.

Transmission does not make a engine miss or stall on the highway.
Better check out both engine and transmission.
