Belts

I have a 1991 Tercel with a 1.5ltr 4cyl. My alternator belt blew off.
1) Is the alternator belt associated with the timing belt
2) How big of a pain is it to replace? Does the other belt have to come off first?
3) I dont want to drive it until I know if it's safe to start and drive.

Help?..............

Re: Belts

It has nothing to do with your Timing belt. It is easy to replace. I have A/C on my Tercel and cannot remember if I had to remove them both to get to the Alternator.

Re: Belts

Thanks!
I'm going to replace both since I'm at it. I saw another post here showing the timing belt replacement process. I may have a crack at that too. My '91 needs a LOT of TLC.
Thanks Again
