2002 Mountaineer How do you add Transmission fluid

I have a 2002 Mountaineer, I drain the transmision fluid, but now I can't figure out how to put the new fluid back in. There is no dip stick tube.
Does anybody know how to put the fluid back in or should I taken to the dealer?

Re: 2002 Mountaineer How do you add Transmission fluid

I take it you have the 5-speed automatic transmission in you Mountaineer? There is a special adapter that you are supposed to need to refill the transmission. I don't know that anyone other than the dealership has the adapter, but I suppose someone could "engineer" something that would work.

I cannot really describe it, but if you'd like me to send you the procedure for the service manual, send me a private message with an e-mail address for you that can accept PDF attachments. Also, mention your request so I know which procedure you are looking for.

One of the best tips I learned was to always make sure I know how to refill a reservoir and that the cap/plug/nozzle comes loose before I drain the fluid. I guess you've now learned that too.
