Engine & Transaxle swap
I need to remove a 50K mile engine and auto transaxle from a wrecked 1995 SW2 and put the assembly into a 1995 SL2 that has a bad engine. What I want to do is remove and install the engine and transaxle as a unit.
Is there a fairly simple way to do this? Can it be done from above? (Removing the engine cradle from the wrecked car will require a Sawzall or a cutting torch.) I have a 1991-93 Saturn factory TSM, and the process they describe is pretty complex. It looks like it should be simple. I've searched the library here, and didn't see anything that specific. The 50K mile engine and transaxle is for real. The recipient car has 118K miles on it, and has antilock brakes. Any advice will be very much appreciated!

Re: Engine & Transaxle swap
Yes, the engine/tranny will come out the top, in fact, the only way to get the engine out is by bringing the tranny with it.
