Has anyone tried the following products?

I drive an '04 2500 crewcab with a 6.0 gas engine and a canopy. Loaded with three adults, and the bed packed driving down the freeway I can manage 14+ mpg going 70 mph.

Locally the press is prepping us for gas at $3/gal in the coming months and with regular at $2.70 which is .60 higher than this time last year, 3 bucks a gallon might be cheap.

So I'm looking at ways to coax a little more effiency out of each gallon and was wonder if anyone has any first hand experience with the following products. If so, ease of installation, effiency improvements and since you have used it, is it worth the $$$$ outlay.....

-Eco Fuel Systems
-Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Thanks.

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

3.00 bucks a gallon , where can I get me some of that...............LOL . It`s only 4.92 a Gallon here NOW. the U.S. gal is smaller than the imperial gal in Canada , and so converting things back to your gallon it is still paying 4.15 a gallon . Some will post that we use the liter here which is correct however doing the conversions these are the stats. LOL

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

14 is not real good mileage.
Most of that gas saving stuff is snake oil.
There is no magic bullets for it.
Your best bet is to keep it tuned up good with good clean air and fuel filter..
Little things like tire pressure and good driving habits like slow take off and easy stops play a role in better gas mileage.
Next size bigger tires may help some.
Also try steady cruising at a different speed like try 60 or 65 MPH may help.
Good luck

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

Do you have any aftermarket stuff done to it? If not I put an exhaust system, a K & N FIPK, and a programmer on my last Chevy and picked up around 3-4 mpgs plus the added power. They are well worth the money.

I put an AirAid air filter and intake on, haven't touched the exhaust because of increased noise factor......what exhaust and performance chip did you install?

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

I just cut stock muffler out and ran a 40 series Flowmaster that dumped right before rear axle. And I used a hypertech programmer on it. It seemed to work pretty well.

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

Put on an FIPK and 50-series Flowmaster, at the same time, transferred jobs from 90% freeway commute to 0% freeway (but only 10% of distance ) and with ALL stop and go now, I still get 10% more mileage per tank than before.

I gained 1-2 mpg after my Nelson Tune. About a year and a half ago I posted a thread about some of those gas saving gizmo's

Re: Has anyone tried the following products?

What tires are you running? When I went from stock tires to my BFG's I lost almost 2 mpg due to all the rubber. Rotational Inertia is a Bit**. Adding my shell didn't change anything.

At the time I was running 305/50R20 Toyo Open Country AT's. Those were near stock size, just sig. wider. Since I added the lift and 35's my mileage obviously has gone down, havent re-geared yet (4.88's in the next few weeks are going it).
