C5 vs. LS2 Goat

Im kind of planning ahead on this one. this time next year i'll be getting a pre-commissioning loan from uncle sam, bout 30k. Anyways, im gonna part ways with the GTP. Im interested in an LS2 GTO or LS1 C5 Vette... or maybe an 01-03 blown cobra... im ball parking around 25k for the car, im sure i could go higher or lower depending on the situation... I just want opinions. All of these cars have amazing potential, but what do u guys think would be better in the long run? What kind of reliability are we looking at?

Any insight is great, thanx.

Re: C5 vs. LS2 Goat

It depends what you want from the car. The Vette looks better, handles better, and the LS1 has a huge aftermarket. The GTO has more power, more space, and will be newer then the Vette. Any chance of a C5 Z06?

Re: C5 vs. LS2 Goat

Damn...same list of cars I'm trying to figure out for next year or the year after, I'll be watching this thread closely.

I've figured so far that the Corvette handles better and Corvette specific aftermarket parts are pretty damn expensive (headers and whatnot) compared to the GTO. The GTO is very comfy to me, I'm a taller guy (6'2" or so), I have a lot of leg room and the seats just kick ass. The Cobras ('03/'04) I found to be so-so comfort wise but that blown V-8 just kicks so much ass.
