how to set timing?

anyone know how to adjust the timing with out a timing light cause i dont want to go buy one for just one use? cause my car is spitting gas through the TBI i have a 2.0l OHC TBI 91'

i have timing set perfect now, i was wondering after i had put on my serpintine(i think that is how u spell it(too lazy to look up the spelling )) belt is not rinding on the center of the pulley on the tensioner, the belt is actually jumping over a groove on the pulley and one groove is riding on edge of pulley, is thiear any way to fix this?

i do not know what you had apart but you did not get every thing back the way it was.
check to see if your tensioner is lined up .it has a pilot hole and if it did not get it in place it would throw the linement out.
check to see if you have woren out bearings also.
water pump etc.
