Re: atr downpipe

IPSmotorsports.net sells some nice downpipes of comparable quality to ATR and Stillen. also check out 3SX.com, but they are a bit pricier.

Re: atr downpipe

There's 2 people currently selling them on 3si. I'm going Stillen as it eliminates both the front precat and the main cat...atr doesn't. Haven't heard about the bolt-up issues though.

Re: atr downpipe

ATR closed down to my knowledge. Awesome downpipe, cept for the lack of a flex section...but that's why you get solid motor mounts right

There's a thing in the FAQ that has comparisons of the more popular downpipes at the time. It's short but worth a read. Also as mentioned above, IPS has one, also Dynamic Racing just made some nice ones as well. Their 3.5" dp to a custom 3.5" catback would be pretty freaking sick on a vr4. Honestly can't remember, but if you're NA, 3sx long tube headers...best option IMO.

Re: atr downpipe

Depends what you got. The stock catback is 2.75ish, 3" should support 500hp, but obviously, the turbos provide adequate backpressure, so you could just run open whatever...open precats, open downpipe, whatever. The larger you go, you will probably gain some power, but at the same time, a 3" exhaust isn't really gonna be the most restrictive thing in your system, so if you don't wanna go bigger due to the fact that your neighbors still like you...it probably isn't a huge difference...unless you are pushing more than 500hp.

I've just been running open downpipe for a few weeks, so I've kinda gotten accustomed to it being loud as all hell.
