my 99 Saturn sl2 sometimes wont start up. when i turn the key nothing happens. but when i try several time then it starts up perfectly, like theres was nothing wrong with it. is my starter bad? or is it a lose starter connection? or is it something else?

Probably starter. Do you even hear a faint click? If so, replace the starter.

loose battery connection can cause similar outcomes like you described too. happened to mine and have seen it in others that needed the (-) tightened up a little more.

thank you for the input.
Yes it clicks but wont start. most of the time it starts up perfectly. i think after a longer run and faster speeds it clicks and wont crank. but given a little time and a few attempts it starts up again without any hesitation. any further input will be appreciated. Can somebody also tell me where the starter is located on this model? thank you |

The starter is typically located under the car on the passenger side.
