Exclamation wont crank

my 99 Saturn sl2 sometimes wont start up. when i turn the key nothing happens. but when i try several time then it starts up perfectly, like theres was nothing wrong with it. is my starter bad? or is it a lose starter connection? or is it something else?

Probably starter. Do you even hear a faint click? If so, replace the starter.

loose battery connection can cause similar outcomes like you described too. happened to mine and have seen it in others that needed the (-) tightened up a little more.

thank you for the input.

Yes it clicks but wont start. most of the time it starts up perfectly. i think after a longer run and faster speeds it clicks and wont crank. but given a little time and a few attempts it starts up again without any hesitation.
any further input will be appreciated.

Can somebody also tell me where the starter is located on this model?

The starter is typically located under the car on the passenger side.
