2006 Impala Ss
I have a 06 Impala SS and the remote start will barely work sometimes have to be within 15 feet. They advertise it will work up to 200 feet away, but has never worked at this distance. I have taken to the dealer twice but they have not been able to correct it. Anybody else had this problem and did you get a fix from GM? Thanks

Re: 2006 Impala Ss
yes, this is a known issue... and it also pertains to the tire pressure monitoring system as well.
it's been discussed at length in the following forums: http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=598047 http://www.montecarloforum.com/m_20230/tm.htm |

Re: 2006 Impala Ss
Yes unfortunately the OEM remote starter is a joke. The advertised range is no where near the real world range. That's way many of the aftermarket guys have come up with these new plug and play remote starters that simply plug into the car's system. Then you install a long range antenna and get two remotes and you are done.
