98 Jgc Quits After Muddy Pull
Hi everyone,
I have a problem, I pulled A trailer out of some weeds /bushes with a chain for about 20'. After I stopped The motor shut down and now won't start. It doesn't seem to have any power to the fuel sending unit or the fuel pump I can't find any wires loose at the fuel pump, but it has 178000 miles so I changed it anyway . I did find the wires pulled out of the oxy. sensor on the cat.but the wireing harness seems to be ok.I put in new relays & checked all the fuses I could find in the kick plate & under The hood. I got A complete sevice manual from jeep for My model which may take a year to understand what the problem could be. I have some machanical ability rebuildt a few motors, changed clutches, trans, brake jobs on My own stuff I have 11 cars / trucks. but MY 98 JGC is the Baby girl of the bunch. Any ideas what could be wrong ?,can the PCM go out like that ? I think oxy. sensor wires have been off for a long time cause the cel has been on for some time.My son has been driving it for the last 2 years, but it was running great until this happened. Thanks, marktruck |

Re: 98 Jgc Quits After Muddy Pull
check the fuel pump fuses/relays, then make sure that none of the wiring harnesses to the fuel pump/sending unit caught something and disconnected. does the engine crank over when you turn the key, or does it just sit there and mock you silently?
