What color cup for my airbrush?

Well I don't use my airbrush very much because of the hassle to clean the bottles everytime or that I need only a small amount of paint but I need to fill like 1/4 of the bottle for it to spray. What color cups can fit my Iwata SAR?
Its a siphon feed airbrush that is a single action. I was thinking the Paasche 1/4oz Color Cup-VL might work.

That cup will fit fine. I have the same cup and it fits my Iwata Eclipse perfectly. I prefer it to bottles as well because it gives you more clearance when getting close to the model.

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

you may want to consider the color cup with the bend in the tube so you can spray downward without spilling paint on your subject.

That cup allows for a pretty good downward angle.

Yeah, that's what I've used with my Badger 150 for years. I've never felt a need to go back to using bottles. That really should do it for you.

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

That's looks like the same cup I use on my Badger 150.The only advantage I find with bottles is that 1.)When I spray a large area (bodyshell) I don't have to keep mixing up paint in the colour cup.2.)I can use my filter which fits on the paint tube inside the bottle.Just another aid to stop any foreign particles getting in my paintwork.
Other than that I use the colour cup for all my spraying needs and it certainly saves on paint!

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

Ok, I finally got the color cup and would like to know what is the appropriate way to put it on. It seems like it is not supposed to be directly under the airbrush and there are two ways of putting it on.

I'm guessing the correct way to use it is the first one.

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

I always use it as in the 2nd photo. But you could use it either as in photo 1 or 2.I think if you use it like photo 3 you may end up spilling your paint.

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

Try it both ways, then use whichever works best for you.

Re: What color cup for my airbrush?

Use the first option, on either side of the aurbrush. I can't imagine the second way working at all: Lots of spillage, and the feed opening could be above the paint level very easily.
