VW MkII Ol' School

I've been working on this thing for a while.

Retro/Old School has been thé big hype at the Belgian VW-scene.
So I could not stay behind with my own 1/24 VW models

What has happened already?
One of the mostimportant things to create the retro/old school look: a retro color!
The corner of the wheelarch has been BMFed.

Maybe not so retro/old school, but I love it anyway: a badgeless grille!
Also, the airintakes in the typical GTI under-lip has been filled up en after that the lip has been made 3mm smaller 'cause the Golf will be low as hell

In the back nothing special.
Just removed the lock from the black strip:

What's on the to-do list?
Some subtile details to keep the retro/old school look alive:
- chrome outside mirror from an old Beetle on the driver side
- foglight under the frontbumper, also from the Beetle
- a "bikini"
- chrome tailpipe on the exhaust
- some stickers on the side window
- a roofrack offcourse!
- New Beetle frontseats without the headrests
- retro-brown colors inside

That's exactly one of the future projects I plan for 2007 but on a Mk1.
Can't wait to see yours finished, I'm sure I'll love it

Have you already seen this one? VVV

This is how mine should look.

Re: VW MkII Ol' School

Small update on the roofrack.
It came from an older Gunze Sangyo Beetle.
The rack looked proportional way too big so it needed some adjustments.

On the left a side part before the adjustment.
On the right offcourse after the adjustment.

The rack itself was standing a little too high.
So I've brought it a little closer to the roof.
IMO it looks more realistic now:

A pic of the completed roofrack will follow after the weekend.
I'm leaving for a weekend with the Pro-Rider crue to the Paris Tuning Show!

Re: VW MkII Ol' School

Small update after a cool weekend
The roofrack is finished and ready for some paint:

The progress is going verry slowly 'cause the interior takes me more time than I expected (as usual )
And I was trying tomake a Porsche911 Carrera2 OOB but it didn't work
