2003 tahoe questions

My wife just bought a 2003 Tahoe, 4x4. It drives and runs great. We will be using it this spring to haul our camper. I need to install a trailer brake controller. Which controller is the best? I have installed these before, but I want it to be perfect on her vehicle. I am a little concerned with the brakes. They seem weak, and have to really push on them to stop. Should I install drilled rotors with ceramic pads? It is a four wheel disc. Thanks for any help.

Re: 2003 tahoe questions

I put a Prodigy brake controller in my '03. It works great. Did a little research, and for the money (~$115), you can't get a better deal. It operates on a gyroscope, so it knows if you're going uphill, to apply less power, and if downhill, more power. It also knows how much power to brake if on a turn, or if a sudden stop. I pull an 18' car hauler with my Jeep on it (total about 6000 pounds, with gear and all). Yeah, it's slow off the line, but I've never had a problem stopping, granted the trailer brakes are in good shape. Also, your local Trailer/RV dealer should have the correct adapter that plugs directly into your Tahoe from the controller.

Hope this helps...
