96 Sable dies immediately after startup on cold mornings
I have a sable that has problems on very cold mornings. The car will not start and stay running (3.0 engine). It will start and remain running if the accelerator is physically held down. Any suggestions?

Re: 96 Sable dies immediately after startup on cold mornings
Two possibility.
The TPS Throttle Position Sensor might be failing and would only work when the gas pedal is held down and so the tps will report a certain value indicating the throttle plate is opened up a bit. The IAC Idle Air Control solenoid is in need of replacement and probably gunked up. However, you can try to clean it with throttle body cleaner and test it. |
