Replacing analog mph guage
Hi All,
I have seen a lot of problems posted here about digital odometers and MPH guages not working. My analog MPH guage one no longer works and I would like to replace it, or at least try. I have a chiltons manual to follow for my 98 Sunfire GT. There is a piece of trip that needs to be popped out but am unsure how to do it before I can remove the glass plate covering the guages. The Chiltons manual does not say how to do this. Any thoughts? Or any thoughts about this problem in general? Thanks, CaptK |

Re: Replacing analog mph guage
so you want to replace the speedometer? Not going to happen.
The gauges are in a cluster, therefore you must replace all of them to replace one. there are a few tutorials out there on how to remove the plastic cover over the gauges to add a gauge face. your best bet is to buy a working cluster from the junk yard and make a note on your title of the mileage difference, unless you have a digital odo, then the computer might change it for you.
