I'd like to mention that anyone with a legal skyline should have extra emissions stuff in place whereas someone with an rb25 swap would probably not go through the trouble to do this, also swapping an engine that is older than the car is also illegal in the US as most already know.

For the most part though no one will really take notice that your car is illegal other than in california where they have the stricter visual checks...and even there you might get away with it if you pass smog. In maine we only have a quick visual check, most of it is looking at the exhaust and making sure there are cats in place and no aftermarket exhaust...so around here an rb25 swapped 240 would probably not even be noticed if the swap was done with an OE look to it.

illegal only in states that have enforcement of CARB's rules. i could swap any obd1 motor into any obd2 car, go to the police station, and tell them i have a motor older than the car and they wont do anything.

haha...that project, yea im still working out some wiring issues, hopefully it will be 100% running by the end of next month. Since its been cold and snowy havent worked on it all winter...bah.

And im wanting to doa F20C swap into my 91 accord, im still trying to figure out how to keep a IRS setup in the rear though...hmmm..

When I graduate this May I am going to do the exact same swap with a 1993 240sx, then get at least 1000hp out of the engine. I estimated around 17k with all the parts.
