Question Bonneville SSE 1995 30 min pre-warm

Hi! I have some troubles with my bonneville, I hope you could help me. Lets see: when the car is cold I need to start the motor 30 min before I could move in any direction. I mean, the transmission doesn't work so the car doesn't move. Finally, when the engine is hot, the reverse or drive starts working, then I can use the car.
Once on movement, if I press the gas pedal, I can hear the engine power, but the car's speed still almost constant, I mean much engine power, few acceleration.
Another symptom is that I can feel the change between 1st and 2nd speed, but If I don't want to go faster and don't press more the gas pedal then I can't feel the change between 2nd and 3rd.
Finally, If I use the over drive and release the gas pedal, when I press the gas pedal again the transmission changes from neutral condition to drive (D) and I have to make the engine over 2500 rpm is that correct?
how can I fix it? I will appreciate your help. Thank you

Welcome to AF, this is an internal pressure problem, you could change fluid and filter and add some Lubegard Red, but I think it will need an overhaul here.

Re: Bonneville SSE 1995 30 min pre-warm

Thank you for your, help.

I went to a transmission repair site "taller" and they dissasembly the transmission in front of me, and told me that it has parts of two different kinds of transmissions 4T60E and 4T65E and that was the reason to fail it.

So, they told me that they will replace all damaged parts (hard parts and overhaul kit) to fix a full 4T60E transmission. After a couple of weeks they fixed my car and now doesn't work as well as before.

I mean, before the transmission stops working, the "speed changes" were fine, i can't feel them; but now, from Parking to Reverse, I feel an impact, and the same happens between Parking to Drive or OverDrive an vice versa; and the worst part is in movement, from first to second, and from second to third; and when I need to pass a car in front of me, if I press the gas pedal, the car continues in the same speed, eventually flies like a plane but usually doesn't work. what can i do?

I told this things in spanish to the transmission's specialist but he says that is a normal condition. So is the first time that my car makes this, how can I fix it or demostrate that the transmission wasn't fixed properly.

I'll appreciate your Help. Thank you

Get a written second opinion from another shop, armed with this take the car back speak to the mgr and tell him to fix it or dispute the credit card charges, if applicable, or take them to small claims court armed with a second opinion.

Thank you, again.

I revised externally the transmission and on the cover there is a sticker which says: Hydramatic, remanufactured for general Motors, I'm sure that it isn't my original damaged transmission case, I am almost sure that the "new" transmission isn't the same model than the original and damaged transmission. How can I confirm this, can you help me? Please

Thank you

Check your RPO codes and then contact dealer to see what your car was built with or someone on this site may have the codes.
