can R/C car windows be tinted?

I'm starting my first R/C car and have just finished building the chassis. I'm now going to start preparing the body for the paint job. I wanted to tint the rear window just a bit to hide the interior but had a few questions about how I do this. By the way, I dont have access to airbrushes so I'm going to use spray cans.

First off, can it be done? I'm going to paint the body in white and i'm assuming the smoke color Tamiya has will darken the body's paint a bit. Will I have to mask the entire car or is there another option(s)?

Second, is there another route I can take to tint windows besides using spray cans? Has anyone tried paper tint for car windows?

I've heard bad stories about tinting using smoke colored paint such as paint being uneven or visible drip marks. My method for tinting 1/24 scale models was to apply blank photo film between the window and body. It works well but obviously wont for a much bigger 1/10 scale car.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks to everyone for taking some time off their hands to read/reply to my thread.

Re: can R/C car windows be tinted?

i think if you use the smoke color from tamiya, but in VERy light coats it will work....

if worse comes to worse, just buy some real car tint from any automotive store, and do it that way...
