LeSabre Custom -partial heat problem

My Buick has a heat problem the driver's side vents, both heat and defroster blow cool air while the pasanger's side blow hot air. I have sealed the vent that blows cool air to temporarily solve the problem. The mechanic changed the thermostate and cannot not find the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: LeSabre Custom -partial heat problem

I just had a similar problem with the dual cilmate control in my 93 lesabre. In mine the passenger had cold air and the driver side had heat. The air mix motor for the driver side is centered under the dash right where the hump is. Get down on the floor board and you'll see it. You should see a lever moving when you change the temperature setting but I suspect it's not. You should be able to manually move the lever to confirm that this is the problem.

For the passenger side, the motor is behind the dash and is harder to get to. In any case, I went to the junk yard, found a donor car, removed the part, paid ten dollars, installed the part and fixed the problem. Yours should be easier to fix than mine. A new air mix motor costs about $50-$60 if I remember correctly.

The link above shows the part you will probably need.
