1998 jeep grand cher 5.7 l

This jeep has abad stalling problem then i start it up again then its fine. put in gear then it stalls again can some one give me some idea what it could be thanks

fix the header it says 98 5.7, the 5.7 is a HEMI, it's either a 5.2L or 5.9L...lol

When you put it in gear does it jerk then stall?

sorry ya i think its 5.2. Ya it jerks then stalls. If i restart it it runs smooth for a bit if i give it gas abit it stumbles then stalls. If its in gear and i pull away it stalls or wants to stall if i let off on pedel stightly it dosn`t stall. thanks

i had a problem exactly the way your explaining it with an old 87 chrysler new yorker i mean exactly the same problem. i could never figure it out what it was so i ended up dropping another motor in it. turned out when i was remove the old motor the idle air control valve fell off and that was the entire problem the whole time. just a thought...

I had a similar problem as well with another vehical. I had a broken motor mount that was allowing movement which caused a wire to get grounded out everytime I gave it gas and the motor moved....I was about to give up and set it on fire but at the last minute a friend spotted the problem....
