Re: Where to find old cars

Try mentioning it to your friends, associates, co-workers, etc. That is how I found my 1964 Bel Air. Back in 1992 I was looking for a early to mid '60s car to put my high performance Chevy small block in. I mentioned it casually to people I knew and in a short time one of my co workers told me he had a car in his barn. I went to look at it and bought it for $800. It was in decent shape, ready for restoration. You can also attend car shows in your area and ask around at local car clubs also.

I don't know about that. I live in Central NY where we have a lot of snow and there are cars that are stored in the winters and well maintainewd by their owners during the driving season. All one has to do is attend one of our local car shows to see proof of this. There are many cars out there from the '60s to the '80s, (probably even the 1950's) that were taken care by their original owners who still own them and know how to take care of of vehicle to increase it's value.

I live by Rochester N.Y and I can't find a decent classic Mustang within 50 miles of me.

Re: Where to find old cars

Maybe you need to expand your search beyond 50 miles. I'm in Syracuse and have seen classic cars that have spent their whole life in this area and look showroom new. The owners store them for the winter, and some only take them to car shows, (some don't even drive them rather they transport them to the show.)

Re: Where to find old cars

My dad owns a classic mustang. But I can't find what i'm looking for in my price range. I want something worth while that's kinda beat up. There is a 1970 Mustang in Buffalo with a C4 and a 351W and the guy wants 10 grand for it.
