Re: 92 lesabre stereo

I'm typing this from what I remember in my head, I've done this so many times already it's almost imprinted in my brain
If I miss a step, someone just add on to this.
Remove woodgrain trim near bottom of dash (simply pops off by hand) Remove the small screws in the dash from where the trim had been. Use pliers or needle nose pliers and gently pull the vent outlets out of the dash (pull at the top half of the vents and they'll snap right out) Remove the screws located inside the upper part of the air ducts where the vents were removed. Remove the 2 screws from above the instrument panel. Remove the woodgrain trim on the left side (where the trunk switch is) and remove the screws located there. Open the glove box and remove the screws from inside (the ones that lead to the dash, not the ones the hold the glovebox lid on the actual glovebox itself) Pull the glovebox out of the dash. Shift down to 3 to remove the radio bezel. The radio screws are now accessable.

Re: 92 lesabre stereo

Instead of using pliers, like I did the first time, you can just push your friendly vents all the way to the left, and they'll pop off.

(If it doesn't work the first time, after using the pliers they definitely will)

BTW, do NOT get a stereo mount that lists all the lesabres on it--I did, and it failed. Also, do not get a mount from WalMart--ALL of theirs did not work on my 92.
(though their harness adaptor did)

I ordered mine online, but the lower stereo bracket needed some love from a hacksaw to fit in with the new radio.

Ghetto Fixes are your friend on a car that got no love in the transmission, and is 16 years old
(yes I can add, but the car was built in 91 if it's a 92)

92 Rules........ummm what happened in 92 other than our cars? Fear of the Dark??

Good luck with the stereo
