Civic HB modding questions

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying a Honda Civic HB. I have a friend who's dad a a Mustang Cobra. My friend is always bragging about how fast it is and how they are going 160mph and all this crap. I'm sure the car is fast but not that fast. I tired of hearing all this BS and want to build a car that can hold its own against some american muscle.

Basically, I want to build a Civic Drag car. Gut pretty much the interior, install a role cage, etc. I will need to go turbo and was wondering how much power is possible to get out of this engine. I'm not to worried about money.
What are some necessary parts to make big power. I was wondering about the transmission too. The stock Civics come with a manual five speed, but i was wondering if I could install a sixth, maybe seven gear, for top speed runs.
If someone could make a general list for parts that I will need i would really appreciate it. If someone could also tell me about the transmission.
