tick tick ticking....injectors?

Hey,

My impala, 2000 3.4L ticks loudly w/ engine RPM, esp on cold startup. It's def not the belt, b/c I just replaced that....I'm guessing the fuel injectors? is that normal? I'm confused on this one....

Re: tick tick ticking....injectors?

Ticking in your engine is normally the lifters. Being a zero lash engine, there is no adjustment, so replacement will be neccessary. You may also want to check the oil for coolant contamination, as the engine in your car is infamous for intake gasket leaks allowing coolant to get in the oil.

Re: tick tick ticking....injectors?

Could it be exhaust leak such as cracked manifold, etc.??

Re: tick tick ticking....injectors?

hey thermo. thier is a additive you can buy that,s called T.K.O and this should fix your problem. it well cost you about 15 or 20 $ but i hear its worth it. add it to a full tank of gas. and your noise should be gone. its for injector +.
but if its a lifter problem, mind been noises for the last 100000 of miles
you can replace them if it bother you. keep clean oil in your engine with lucus
additive and just drive it. you can buy tko at auto zone
