day time running lights stay on with regular lights turned on

My 2000 GC sport lately will keep the day time running lights, intergraded with turn signals, on even when the regular lights are on, there is a ticking noise in side the dash behind the lights switch at the same time the lights come on, sometimes when hitting small bumps this will happen too and the lights will flash at the same time. Is there a relay or something that needs to be replaced or is there a way to turn them off completely. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to keep this van away from the stealers as much a possible.

DRL module is faulty,I pick up one from wreckers and replaced it.It just unplugs from the fuse panel under the dash.It's about 1"x2".
