1998 Caravan Rear Defroster
Rear defroster doesn't work. Dash lite works and no fuses appear to
be blown. What to check next? |

Re: 1998 Caravan Rear Defroster
I thought the rear defroster used a circuit breaker.
Get a voltmeter and measure the voltage going to the rear window defroster connections on the window. |

Re: 1998 Caravan Rear Defroster
Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to find where the connections are. The
brake and wiper are easy as there is a removable plastic cover. The wires from the front seem to be at the top of the door and go through grommets. I looked under the dash (and online) for circuit breakers. I didn't see anything that I recognized as one. Quote:

Quote:
In the 2000 wiring diagram, Fuse F12(10A)(in Junction Block) feeds the coil of the Rear Window Defogger Relay in the Junction Block. Fuse108(40A) in the Power Distribution center feeds the output contacts of the Defogger relay. The main suspects would be the window grid, the relay and the fuses. Usually the fuses will blow for a reason though, not because of old age.

Re: 1998 Caravan Rear Defroster
Thanks,
I'll take a closer look with the info. The van was AWOL for the weekend. We're probably going to replace the van this summer but the rear window defrost is nice here in Rochester, NY. Quote:
