it's been a while, but here i am

so i haven't been on here much lately, but i have a new thing to ask of. It's a little hard to talk about but i'm hoping someone out there has a little experience.

Basically my mom has been diagnosed with kidney caner. It's been taking a toll on my entire family and my life.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has a relative that has cancer, and what I can expect in the coming months and stuff.

My Uncle has cancer and only has weeks to live at this moment, what you don't say is what your Mom's full diagnosis is?

Is it operable, will they be giving chemo or radiotherapy?

When you're dealing with cancer for the first time, it's difficult for the whole family, learn as much as you can about what you're getting into and find out what options are there for fighting it. Foundations like Livestrong will help you find out more about this illness.

Cancer is not a death sentence, it can be beaten.

I have friend whos dad died last week from lung cancer, he has had it for a long time now. My cousin had a cancerous brain tumor here a few years back, its hard on the family and all but it can be beaten. she went through radiation or chemo, and had the tumor removed, and shes doing pretty good right now, I think that she just turned 20 or 21.

I believe the cancer deaths last year were about 3 or 4,000 lower than the previous year before that. Unlike the war on drugs, we're slowly turning the tide on the war on cancer. My mom has two friends who beat breast cancer, I went to school with a kid who had a brain tumor removed when he was 14 and is doing great. Don't worry too much, cancer is not necessarily a death sentence.

Exactly, there are literally leaps and bounds in cancer research. I just read a very promising study on a new gene therapy vaccine against cancers. Cancer research is significantly on the rise.
For kidney cancers, the primary option is usually surgery and removal of the affected tissues, maybe including the adrenal glands which sit on top of kidneys. The surgeries have been very, very affective against removing the cancerous cells.
As already mentioned, with modern advances in medicine, it is no longer a death sentence.

Take it easy man, family first.
