Re: Subaru Buyers Take Note!!!!!

You should put in that post that you had the computer re-mapped. I doubt that the motor would "blow up" if you hadn't done that. You make it sound like it's Subaru's fault that the engine shat itself after YOU had it modified.

Your mistake, your problem, you should be paying to have it fixed.

Re: Subaru Buyers Take Note!!!!!

It is now quite obvious that I'm going to be paying for it, the reason for the post is to make other buyers aware of what one simple mod can do. I mean, it's not like I just bolted on a bottle of nos and went for it, my motor was tuned by a well known tuner, and has been well taken care of, then it blows up. LIKE I SAID IN THE POST IF YOU READ IT.

THIS IS THE SECOND SUBARU THAT HAS PREMATURELY DIED ON ME!!!!!!!!

It is not known for sure if the remap caused the problem in the first place.

So, if you do any mods, you can kiss your warranty goodbye, and don't think your subaru will last, cause it probably won't.

And finally if you do ANY mods, make sure you keep your original parts to swap back in case this does happen, you can swap back and might get your problem covered.

The main reason for both of the posts was NOT to blame anyone, however I do have my opinion. The object of the post was to make other people aware of what can happen. I see many modified subaru's running around, and most of them have their share of problems. If I read this on the net before I did the vishnu, I wouldn't have done it. As a matter of fact, the car was for sale, which makes it even worse.

What do you consider prematurely? I mean yeah the one you're talking about now with less than 50k miles is premature but how many miles did your other one have?
