6 sets of 2 beeps, and ses light.

I own a 2001 mitsubishi galant gtz, with 85,000 miles, i just rejplaced the front oxygen sensor before the cat, and put in a new thermostat.

The service engine soon light went off after i replaced the o2 sensor, then 4 or 5 days later, its back on... and when i start the cat i hear 6 sets of 2 beeps.. does anyone know what the beeps are or what could possibly be wrong?

i unpluged the battery when i changed the thermostat so that prbably would have reset the code but would it take the system 4 days to recognize the o2 sensor isnt working, or could the o2 sensor have broke already in 4 days?
