What are you looking for? the look of the car? or the speed and handling of the car? if you are looking for a car to make fast.. buy a vr4.. if you are more into the look.. buy an sl.. you could probably find a better deal but it comes down to how bad do you want it?

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: How good of a deal?

how was the work done, was it done right or shotty by someone who didn't know what they were doing?

how does the car look like it's been treated...

those two things right there can tell ya alot a/b the condition it will be in before you can get it home and look at it closer...

Also, has it been detailed? (if so, why do you think they did it? to keep it clean or to hide something?)

mods don't make the value of the car go up, in general. Of course, kbb is only a "guide" to what to expect an asking price for. The real value of the car is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Re: How good of a deal?

Depends on how well it has been kept up. For reference, I recently sold a 95 3000GT with 139k on it for 3500. It looked good, but wasn't perfect.

Re: How good of a deal?

just keep in mind parts for the 3/s arent cheap. You can go find a cheaper one im sure, but end up paying more in the long run to fix it. especially if you dont know enough and have to pay a shop to do it.

I snapped a sway bar end link (a little piece of metal that holds a bar to the frame of the car and helps with cornerning), and it cost me $65 (for the SOHC)... the part was a little metal joint with two bolts coming out of it... and it was installed in less than 10 mins...

and check the transmission in it... mine was good, til I hit a deer, and ended up having to rebuild it... and had problems with it after that...
