Exclamation Throw out bearing 95 yj 4cyl

Ok i'm having a problem ... i'm hearing this whistling noise from somewhere in the general direction of my motor of my jeep ... its a 95 yj 4cyl and its killing me.... when idling it doesnt do it... but i can set still and rev up the jeep a little and it does it then and also when i'm going down the road and the rpm's are up .... any ideas?
i had someone tell me that he thought it might be the throw out bearing???
could that be right and if you think it is how much am i looking at to fix it ?

I think a throwout bearing makes more of a squeak or rattle than a whistle. A throwout bearing will also quiet down when the clutch is depressed.
I would check your vacuum hoses. Your belt or pullies can sometimes make a whirrrring noise if the tension is wrong or one of the pullies are going bad.
